How to become a moderator on the forum
Becoming a moderator on the Qt forum is not an automated process.
People interested in becoming moderator to help out handling the forum need to first show interest in the matter. By interest, just wanting to be in the moderator group is not enough. However, deep knowledge of all the details of every Qt modules, although useful, is not required for that function.
There are two ways to become a moderator on the Qt forum:
- Requesting to integrate the group
- Receiving the proposition to integrate the group from other moderator(s)
In both cases the same rules apply:
- A minimum of 3 of the most active moderators should discuss and vote the approval
- The approval is decided when the majority reaches agreement (e.g. 3 to 0 or 2 to 1)
In the case of someone clearly just trying to integrate one or more of the groups without any special activity, rejecting the request doesn't require special voting.
